“One benefit of summer was that each day we had more light to read by.” – Jeannette Wells

After 2 consecutive weeks of the York County COVID positivity rate being below 5%, Brunswick at Longstown employees were finally able to take off their eye wear! Masks are still mandatory for staff but not for residents. We are still conducting monthly COVID testing for employees who have not received the COVID vaccine. If anyone is interested in receiving either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine, please see Ashley Creek, Administrator.

The June raffle basket, Bird House Basket was a success! We will be continuing this monthly raffle basket to grow the Employee Appreciation Fund to work towards getting every employee a fleece jacket. June’s basket was donated by the nursing administration department, look for pictures on our social media. Our next fundraiser will be in August, subs and pretzel sandwiches! June treated the employees with Rita’s Italian Ice, chocolate milkshakes, iced tea for National Iced Tea Day, peanut butter fudge on National Fudge Day and Hershey Kisses on National Kiss Day! June 17th through June 23rd was national Resident Assistant Week. We celebrated our Resident Assistant’s by gifting them a summer basket and a luncheon. We appreciate our aides for all they do for our residents and their co-workers and we are all so proud of each of them. Don’t forget to thank a CNA or Resident Assistant not only during this week, but every time you see one!

Please remember that as the rest of the world returns to a sense of normalcy, the Brunswick at Longstown still has to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC and the Department of Health. Surgical masks are still to be worn at all times by employees. Visitors must wear masks at all times.

If you would like to schedule an in-person visit or a window visit, please call and speak to a receptionist to schedule an appointment. We will still be continuing to schedule virtual visits through Facetime, Skype, Zoom, Facebook, etc.

Thank you to all of the employees, the residents, and their family members for your continued support during this trying time. Don’t forget to check us out on our BAL website, Facebook and Instagram for updates and pictures!
